Teaching reading in a foreign language in a modern university: theory and practice

The article analyzes various aspects of approaches to teaching reading in a foreign language and suggests possible ways to optimize teaching to read. At the same time, attention is given to the psychological and psycholinguistic characteristics of reading, the problems of understanding a foreign language text in the process of reading, as well as the possibility of integrating the experience of teaching reading at a university in our country and abroad. The authors also indicate possible areas of research in the field of teaching foreign language reading, taking into account the accumulated experience of domestic and foreign methods.
